Great potential

George MacDonald, author of "The Princess and the Goblin",  once stated the following: "I would rather be what God chose to make me than the most glorious creature that I could think of; for to have been thought about, born in God's thought, and then made by God, is the dearest, grandest and most precious thing in all thinking."   Seeing our children, not as we want them to be, nor as they appear, but seeing them through the eyes of God and catching a glimpse of the beautiful person He created them to be, is to truly see our children, and to see them as having immeasurable potential - persons made by purpose and for purpose by the One who flung the stars into space and set the seas rolling.

Stories from the week

After a week of intense heat, Gardens Nook children welcomed the chance to play in the cool droplets of our garden sprinkler. Between squeals of laughter and muddy play, the oppressive heat seemed less overwhelming. Although our children were all affected by the muggy weather, they persevered and exercised wonderful patience with each other. Gardens Nook remained a place of joy and learning.

Engaging in tasks that are worthy of our time and truly seek to extend and challenge the mind, both stimulate interest and reward our children with affirmation in their potential and growth of skill. These tasks call for maturity and careful work, requiring our children to devote both heart and mind to the subject at hand. When children are expected to do frivolous tasks, they're drawn to boredom and shoddy efforts. Three Peaks school values worthy work - raising up children who hold high regard for beauty, accuracy, and skill.

Thank you Harrowers!

We would like to take a moment to thank the Harrower family for all their efforts and determination in raising funds for children at Three Peaks school and the growing library. With donations coming in from all over the world, they were able to raise double their target. This initiative has been a tremendous success and we applaud the Harrowers for making this possible!

Thank you again for all your  support! We appreciate you all.

Prayer

In response to God's ongoing goodness and blessing over our school:

  • we praise Him for the wonderful experiences our children get to enjoy
  • we praise Him for fruitful parent-teacher meetings
  • we thank Him for a good first term

Something to ponder...

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

- Psalm 139:14-

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,

Nicolette Skead
