Growing up near the ocean, I have vivid memories of walking behind my father on the soft sand, jumping from one footprint to another. I remember the firmness of his footprint, the surety of yet another step, and the comfort of his figure striding ahead. Galatians 5:16-25 draws our attention to this very image. As believers of Christ, we have been given the Holy Spirit who goes before us, illuminating the character of Christ and leading us into His very image. We are called to put aside the desires of our flesh and to rather walk in the path of holiness, as new creations. The result is the formation of a character marked by the fruits of the spirit; love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

There is no sweeter moment than when a friend shares a hug. Gardens Nook preschool aims to guide our children towards habits of gentleness, understanding, respect, and kindness. We believe in the importance of consistent encouragement, directing their attention to ways of being that bring about their best person whilst creating an atmosphere that is warm and comforting.

A child's best is equally encouraged and developed through practical outlets that require habits of good attention, careful work, and mastery of skill. Whether our children are busy with art or handwork, there is emphasis in them putting their best efforts forward, to achieve the best representation of their skill and care. Pictures, woven baskets, and clay jars are worked on diligently, over time, with careful instruction. The results speak for themselves. 

If you are free from 8:00-8:30 am on Thursday mornings, please consider joining our parent prayer group as we come together and pray for our school. 

Games Night takes place on Thursday evening, 19 March. This will be an opportunity for parents to drop their children at school whilst our devoted teachers facilitate a fun evening of  games for them and their friends. The Harrower-family Cycle Fundraiser for Fee-Support and Library Funds at Three Peaks is well underway. They have already raised R12, 700!! Go Harrowers!!
