We were made to live in relation to one another. The child comes into this world drawn towards its mother; it needs and must have people. Yet our world advocates for individualism and singularity, seeking the benefit of self, even at the cost of another. This egocentric mentality leaves countless in a state of desperate loneliness, isolation, and despair. What our world needs is a generation to step up, seek the lost, comfort the broken, and bring companionship to the lonely. In John 13:34, Jesus commands us to love one another, as He has loved us. In our brokenness, He sought us and gave Himself up for us, so that we would know love, true love. Let us be the community that demonstrates this love with sincerity.

George Washington once stated that "True friendship is a plant of slow growth." After observing children over time, I couldn't agree more with Washington. An acquaintance can be found in an instant, but a friend who rejoices in your joy and weeps in your sorrow is one who has learned steadfast love over time. Gardens Nook preschool hopes to provide an atmosphere fit for the germination of young friendships. We rejoice in children coming together, learning the value of consideration, sacrifice, and generosity. Friendship is not just finding a playmate, it's the intentional movement towards selfless goodwill.

When playtime is spent surrounded by those with shared interests, both mind and body are at peace. Handicrafts become a community occupation whilst favored snippets from library books are read aloud. Three Peaks celebrates these sacred moments when children come together and share in the delight of one another. Back in the classroom, other relationships are developing. Children are becoming closely acquainted with the fascinating world of insects, studying their natural habitats, forms, and internal organs. As William Shakespeare once said, "One touch of nature makes the whole world kin."

It was truly wonderful hosting Jean Louw on Wednesday and Thursday. She was able to visit many of our classrooms, offer support and guidance to our teachers, and share in some of our school activities. We praise the Lord for Ambleside and their ongoing support and care for our school.

In three week's time, our grade 6&7 teacher, Mrs Harrower, will be riding the 2026 Cape Town Cycle Tour to support Three Peaks Primary School. This year marks a special milestone for the family, as Catherine’s husband, Neil, will be riding his 21st Cycle Tour, with Catherine and their children, Daniel (13) and Emily (11) joining in to mark the occasion.
The family is also riding to raise funds for the Fee-Support and Library Funds at Three Peaks. Donations raised will resource our Fee Support Fund which comes alongside families who require financial assistance and contribute to the ongoing development of the school’s library resources for the benefit of all learners.
We encourage our school family to support this initiative by sponsoring their tour. We'll also be sending out information via WhatsApp on Monday, so please do share widely and help us maximise the impact of this moment.
