Cultivating growth through circumstance

Learning permeates the fabric of daily life, transforming every moment into a lesson. When recognizing these moments, and seizing these opportunities, we can use the natural playground of life to drop ideas, instruct conscience, and nurture growth in character. Consider the influence parents could have on their children when joy is celebrated with appreciation, when sadness is reassured with promises, when frustration and anger are calmed with grace - how much more would our children aspire to to grow in these qualities when witnessed first hand in the lives of their parents?

Stories from the week

When children spontaneously settle in front of maps to explore far off places, one must utter the words, “Great and marvelous are Thy works, Lord God Almighty.” Creation speaks of His goodness and children delight in all He has made.

Gardens Nook invites and encourages attitudes of discovery so that children feel free to ask many questions and learn from many different circumstances, forming in their own minds opinions and relations with many different subjects.

From recognizing and naming insects to dissecting skeletal forms and studying digestive tracts, Three Peaks children find fresh delight in bugs. You know the mind has formed a strong relation when a group of twelve year old boys choose the study of a butterfly over a pending soccer game! Education is allowing children to have many opportunities to gain knowledge from a wide range of subjects.

Community notes

Parent prayer group

If you are free at 8am on Thursday mornings, please consider joining our parent prayer group as we come together and pray for our school. Praying together is always encouraging as it helps us reflect on God's goodness whilst holding to His promises for the future.

Second-hand uniform shop

We are excited to be opening our second-hand uniform shop in early February.

Please consider donating freshly washed and gently used items that your children have grown out of. All items can be dropped off at the school office.

Parent Portal

A reminder that you can access our parent portal (https://parents.threepeaks.org.za/) for information about most aspects of our school life. E.g. Uniforms, banking details, parent handbooks, etc.

Prayer

In response to God's ongoing goodness and blessing over our school, we praise Him for:

- new families that have recently joined

- dedicated and loving teachers who care deeply for the children

- a close partnership with Holy Trinity church

Something to ponder...

“The more of a person we succeed in making a child, the better will he both fulfil his own life and serve society.”

- Charlotte M Mason-

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
